ID – ODS now supports AUC based Vancomycin dosing!

Infections in critically ill patients are associated with persistently poor clinical outcomes. These patients have severely altered and variable antibiotic pharmacokinetics and are infected by less susceptible pathogens, making the case for pharmacodynamic based dose optimization. Antibiotic dosing that does not account for these features is likely to result in suboptimal outcomes. In the January 2019 release of ID-ODS we incorporated a full suite of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic dose estimation approach. This upgrade now allows the users to incorporate the latest science into dosing of antibiotics, including Vancomycin AUC/MIC based optimizations
